Sharp Pins are coming to the Netherlands for the first time. This is a must-see for fans of quality indie rock, slacker rock, and lo-fi rock. The band centres on Kai Slater, who is hailed in his home country as a new indie rock hero.
A busy figure in Chicago’s underground scene, Kai Slater draws inspiration from artists such as Alex Chilton (Big Star) and Robert Pollard (Guided By Voices). Consequently, Sharp Pins’ sound is rooted in the 1960s and 70s, evoking the likes of Pavement, Elliott Smith, and The Byrds, as well as The Beatles during their “Rubber Soul” era.
